What is The Bible Conversation?
It’s a chance to meet people, chat about the Bible and figure out how you feel about it by listening to four short Bible stories across four free sessions.
They’re hosted by local churches across Teesside – by people who don’t have all the answers but ask the right questions to help you dig into the Bible yourself.

What happens at The Bible Conversation?
No two conversations are the same. But they all follow the same structure:
check_boxYou meet up as a small group hosted by a local church
check_boxYou listen to 1 short Bible story per session
check_boxYou chat through what it says about God, people and life
Each group has two hosts to keep the conversation on track – with space for 5–15 participants.
What will I cover in each session?
During each event, you’ll listen to a short story from either Luke or Acts – two books that talk about Jesus. Then, your host asks your group questions such as:
question_markWhat do you like or dislike about the story?
question_markWhat does this story say about God?
question_markWhat does it reveal about people or about yourself?
There are no right or wrong answers. And there’s no pressure to speak either, if you’d just prefer to listen.
This isn’t a formal teaching session. It’s all about finding a space where you can explore the Bible for yourself – to see how you feel about it and discover what it says to you today.

Definitely – the more the merrier.
Why not share this page with them and invite them to sign up too?
How long does The Bible Conversation last?
Each session is designed to last around 45 minutes. They should be wrapped up by the hour, unless you want to chat for longer.
How do the sessions fit together?
The four stories you’ll cover are all from the books of Luke or Acts – and we’ll have copies available for you when you arrive.
The first three stories explore the character of Jesus, while the last story talks about the early days of Christianity – the faith inspired by Jesus.
Together, they act as a helpful introduction to the Bible – great if you’re wondering where to get started.
But each story is standalone – they don’t directly follow on from each other, and they all make sense on their own, so if you can’t make week two, that’s no problem! You can still pop along to week three without feeling like you’re behind.
Do I have to contribute to the conversation?
There’s absolutely zero pressure to speak.
The main thing is that you feel comfortable and relaxed. And don’t worry: you won’t be put on the spot with any tricky Bible questions. And your hosts won’t ask you to read the Bible aloud if you don’t want to.
This is designed as an open discussion, so we hope everyone feels confident to share their thoughts on the stories if they wish to.
